Approach:
By train: The Zugspitze's peak can easily reached by train. You can take the train from Munich central station to Garmisch main station. Than change to "Zugspitzbahn" just behind the main railway station.This cog railway calls at the base of the other ski areas and the village of Grainau before the Eibsee lake.
By car: Approaching from Munich take the motorway A95 to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and follow the signs to "Zugspitze".

Slopes: The ski area of Mt. Zugspitze boasts the highest ski area in Germany with 22 kilometers (15 miles) of perfectly groomed runs with reliable snow cover, plus Germany's only glacier – guaranteed natural snow.

Lifts: Cog railway (starts at Garmisch main station), 3 aerial tramways, 1 chairlift and 8 drag lifts

Skiing on the Zugspitze is an impressive experience. Even the journey to Germany's highest peak will provide unique memories of the trip - whether it is the train travelling through the tunnels bored into the heart of the mountain before emerging on the ski area, or the view down from the Eibsee cable car down to the deep blue of the mountain lake below.
